Add this new comedy magic wand to your Christmas shows for lots of laughs! It’s not just another comedy wand but a whole routine!
If you entertain children with magic, then there is no doubt you get invited to perform for Christmas parties. This new wand by Tommy James is loaded with bits of business guaranteed to get laughs during your show. Use this wand anytime in your show when you have a helper on stage and you need a magic wand.
Tell the kids that last year you asked Santa for a new magic wand but if you show it to them, they must promise NOT to laugh at it. Bring out the wand. It is bright red with white tips and a white pom pom on the top. Of course, the kids laugh. Explain that it must be very powerful if it was made by Santa’s elves. Show your helper how to wave the wand, as you demonstrate by waving it up, down, all around and in circles etc. Hand the wand to your helper and ask them to wave the wand and when they do, the pom pom falls off and onto the floor! (If you’re an advocate for not having props break in a child’s hand, then just have it fall off in YOUR own hand) Oh NO! The magic wand must be defective! Lets see if we can fix it. Place the pom pom back onto the wand. Wave it up, down, all around etc. There! All fixed! Hand the wand back to the helper, they wave it and the pom pom falls off again! I’m putting in a complaint to Santa! Place the pom pom back onto the wand. Wave it up, down and all around as you say: It will NEVER fall off again! Just as you say that, the pom pom falls off while the wand is in YOUR hands. You don’t see it, but the kids do and they will let you know! Fix it one more time. Gesture with the wand towards the audience. This is NOT funny! The pom pom goes flying again!
This is a job for . . . INVISIBLE GLUE! Bring out a small bottle labeled “INVISIBLE GLUE.” Unscrew the cap and pretend to pour some glue into the end of the wand but, oh no, you accidentally spilled some on the floor! Remove a cloth from your case and wipe up the glue. You throw the cloth back into your case. You continue the routine but you don’t realize the cloth is now stuck to your thumb! You don’t see it, but the kids do! AHHH! The cloth is glued to my thumb! You finally get free of the cloth but now it’s stuck to your OTHER thumb! Pandemonium! Play this back and fourth a few times and finally get free of the cloth.
Screw the cap back onto the glue bottle and place the bottle on your table. Continue with the routine but you don’t realize the GLUE BOTTLE is now stuck to your thumb! You don’t see it but the kids are going crazy trying to tell you! You finally get free of the bottle. Place the pom pom back onto the wand. It is now secure and can be used in your routine. There are more bits of business in this routine than you can shake a wand at!
Wand measures 15 inches and is totally mechanical and very easy to operate. Comes complete with gimmicked glue bottle, gimmicked cloth and Tommy’s routine.
