Originally Bullock's Museum, a showplace for its namesake's collection of natural history artifacts, the Hall went on to fame as a showplace for all manner of entertainments, and eventually became world famous as England's "Home of Mystery" and as the home base of John Nevil Maskelyne and David Devant.
