Murray (Norman Murray Walters), was a world-famous magician & escape-artist. He used the stage-name “Murray the Escapologist” during his globe-trotting career, which spanned from 1915 to 1954. A Houdini contemporary, Murray coined the word “escapology” and many considered him to have been better than Houdini.
DESCRIPTION: Produced by The Perfecta Press of London, this original promotional poster features the image Murray holding a beer with a miniature assistant atop his left shoulder pouring a stream of beer into his glass. The famed escapologist was promoting his appearance at Murray’s Magic Mart in Blackpool, England with all the specific performance details printed underneath the imagery.
